Synopsis

This book contains 15 stories and 48 poems written by Dr. Hanif Gulmahamad, the Guyanese/American scholar, scientist, poet, consultant, and writer. He published another book in 2009 titled: Stories and Poems by a Guyanese Village Boy (Orders@Xlibris.com). Eleven of the stories in this book are non-fiction and four are works of fiction. These writings are based on the author’s boyhood experiences growing up at No. 73 Village (originally named Clonbrook by the Dutch), Corentyne, Berbice, Guyana. These stories tell of a way of life of a young lad in a faraway land in the 1950’s and 1960’s in a British colonial territory.
