BONUS MATERIAL INCLUDED: 1st chapter of Jeffrey Archer's newest novel SINS OF THE FATHER, coming May 2012.

SINS OF THE FATHER: On the heels of the international bestseller Only Time Will Tell, Jeffrey Archer picks up the sweeping story of the Clifton Chronicles….

Only days before Britain declares war on Germany, Harry Clifton, hoping to escape the consequences of long-buried family secrets, and forced to accept that his desire to marry Emma Barrington will never be fulfilled, has joined the Merchant Navy. But his ship is sunk in the Atlantic by a German U-boat, drowning almost the entire crew. An American cruise liner, the SS Kansas Star, rescues a handful of sailors, among them Harry and the third officer, an American named Tom Bradshaw. When Bradshaw dies in the night, Harry seizes on the chance to escape his tangled past and assumes his identity.

On landing in America, however, Bradshaw quickly learns the mistake he has made, when he discovers what is awaiting him in New York. Without any way of proving his true identity, Harry Clifton is now chained to a past that could be far worse than the one he had hoped to escape.

I really loved this book ! it was the first book I head ever read by Jeffery Archer and I didnt know what to expect but now I can see why he has sold so many books !! It is essentially about 4 men working their way through the political ranks in order to reach the top spot as PM and essentially this is what made me want to read it as I thought it would be interesting to learn the ins and outs of parliament. Quite quickly I became involved in the story line, routing for my favorites and determined to find out what would happen next. It is clearly written by a very skilled author and despite the fact it could be considered a fairly dry subject matter the book is full of interesting characters and witty remarks. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who enjoys reading about British life in the second half of the 20th century (the book covers around 40 years), especially if you are at all interested in what goes on behind the scenes of English parliment

Okay Jeffrey. Not bad. Don't read this book expecting much in the way of political analysis. However, the book probably reflects much of the way politics is viewed by the players inside elected parliaments.
