Synopsis

The nation’s question is always where do we go and how do we get there. Our way of pursuing success has not brought prosperity and well-being to everyone, however, largely because of the cowboy problem, short-term self-interest, group think, and moral confusion. A better direction would include everyone and serve the good of the whole. Politics alone won’t achieve this because personalities, alliances, and events can derail constructive purposes. Thinking beyond politics depends on people’s commitment to connect and work together, and to be rational, responsible, and good. What happens next will depend on those who believe this and act on it.
