Synopsis

In this truly inspirational memoir, Anita Moorjani relates how, after fighting cancer for almost four years, her body-overwhelmed by the malignant cells spreading throughout her system-began shutting down. As her organs failed, she entered into an extraordinary near-death experience where she realized her inherent worth . . . and the actual cause of her disease. Upon regaining consciousness, Anita found that her condition had improved so rapidly that she was able to be released from the hospital within weeks . . . without a trace of cancer in her body! Within these pages, Anita recounts stories of her childhood in Hong Kong, her challenge to establish her career and find true love, as well as how she eventually ended up in that hospital bed where she defied all medical knowledge. As part of a traditional Hindu family residing in a largely Chinese and British society, she had been pushed and pulled by cultural and religious customs since she had been a little girl. After years of struggling to forge her own path while trying to meet everyone else's expectations, she had the realization, as a result of her epiphany on the other side, that she had the power to heal herself . . . and that there are miracles in the Universe that she had never even imagined. In Dying to Be Me, Anita freely shares all she has learned about illness, healing, fear, "being love," and the true magnificence of each and every human being! This is a book that definitely makes the case that we are spiritual beings having a human experience . . . and that we are all One!

This book was recommended by 2 friends, both being treated or having overcome cancer. It did not disappoint. It put the fear of death aside and showed the power beyond our own control and the importance of LIVING LIFE and Loving Life. Truly inspiring. I will read part of it again.

I picked up this book while a close friend was dying of cancer to understand why. I discovered more than why from this book and have altered my own thoughts to live a freer life -- in the present. Anita inspires you to be your better self.

A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. LIFE CHANGING. Her story is empowering and gives a new meaning to life, as if wearing a different pair of glasses. It makes it easy to live. She gives hope and uncovers the truth on how life works. This book taught me that everything boils down to 2 things: love or fear. And she has taught me to choose love all the time.

I loved this book, and have gone back to read parts of it again a few times. I've read other accounts of near death experiences over the years, some interesting, and many in my view stretching the limits of credibility, but this one made sense to me in the context of everything I believe and have come to understand, and went beyond that to offer some explanations and perspective that I found extremely helpful and inspiring. I would recommend it to anyone who is trying to make sense of what happens in life, or who is searching for meaning. I give it four stars for the value of its message, although I did find the writing a little bit repetitive--a minor quibble. Well worth reading!

Magnificent

Amazing book in all aspects. Truly inspiring and changes the way you look at humans. I disagree on some of Anita's views (the no-punishment part). After all, she only saw part of the other side no it whole. Her experience was NDE not full death. Yet she speaks as if she knows it all

When diagnosed with cancer, it was suggested I read this book. Miss Moorjani was very honest with how she wanted to live her life and how where she was living, religion and family customs regulated her life, . Miss Moorjani does not lecture but explains about her experience. She does not preach. I enjoyed reading her book very much. It was very refreshing compared to other books in the genre.

Dying To Be Me

Dying To Be Me is undoubtedly the BEST and most intelligent book I have read in a long time. If we can all understand her mind set, life would be a much better place for those who decide to choose this. I see now that the life we choose is indeed a choice. And when you read her book, life will become so much more, and so very simple. I am free. Please, please read this book!
