Synopsis

What power can bruise the sky?

Two worlds are poised on the brink of a vicious war. By way of a staggering deception, Karou has taken control of the chimaera's rebellion and is intent on steering its course away from dead-end vengeance. The future rests on her.

When the brutal angel emperor brings his army to the human world, Karou and Akiva are finally reunited--not in love, but in tentative alliance against their common enemy. It is a twisted version of their long-ago dream, and they begin to hope that it might forge a way forward for their people. And, perhaps, for themselves.

But with even bigger threats on the horizon, are Karou and Akiva strong enough to stand among the gods and monsters?

The New York Times bestselling Daughter of Smoke & Bone trilogy comes to a stunning conclusion as--from the streets of Rome to the caves of the Kirin and beyond--humans, chimaera, and seraphim strive, love, and die in an epic theater that transcends good and evil, right and wrong, friend and enemy.

Lastly the third book
January 21st, 2015
Wow, it started out with a bang, I wasn't sure how the plot line was going to progress. Even though it may take a couple chapters to get back into the wonderful characters, I completely reconnected and greatly enjoyed each coming moment in the story lines and character personalities! Sad it's all over, but glad to finally getting some much needed rest after staying up late reading this thrilling novel and the third installment in the trilogy.!

How does one end a trilogy?
January 6th, 2015
Laini Taylor somehow wraps up this fantastical series leaving it even bigger and more magical than the two books before it. I have reread the series three times now, because I can't believe that is the end of the tale of Eretz. It is hard to believe how far the series has come from first meeting Karou at an art school in Prague, but everything makes sense (as far as magic, veils, and godstars go) at the end somehow. I felt like i was waiting for Karou and Akiva to finally be together and happy (spoiler! ) until the absolute last page and then iTS ALL OVER... anyways, the series was entertaining, magical and there are definitely moments that made my eyes water or my heart clench... and i definitely would love to see any movie adaptation that would come of it.

DEAR LORD
April 21st, 2014
Laini Taylor is an amazing author. This world was a fast favorite for me, I've been in love with Karou, the Chimaera and Eretz since they were introduced to us in DoSaB! This incredible conclusion blew that world apart and saw it spiral split and grow into something far larger then I ever could have imagined. So much happens it is literally impossible to discuss without spoilers. Finish the series, I beg of you. I'm off to reread. It's worth it. It's such a beautiful and beautifully woven story. This is why I love books.
