Synopsis

Jennifer Clark's death in a car-bombing incident has launched a major investigation from the Pentagon. Was it a terrorist plot aimed at her husband, Bill -- a cryptography analyst at the National Security Agency? Who is responsible for leaks of classified government information to a hostile foreign country? Jennifer's twin sister knows a secret she is afraid to tell her family, the police or the government investigators -- Jennifer was involved in a lesbian affair. Her lover mysteriously vanished immediately after the car-bombing. Everything about her was a lie. Gallagher, a private eye from Boston, is hired to find the missing woman. His search takes him to Washington D.C. where he discovers that the car-bombing is only a back-drop to a complex, treasonous scheme to sell classified information to a hostile foreign country. As the violent mystery unravels, Gallagher finds himself under attack from two fronts. High level government conspirators are desperate to keep him quiet. And, an old nemesis from Las Vegas resurfaces to seek deadly revenge.
