Synopsis

Cassandra Crossing was used to being in the shadows and had been successful to the point that few people even realized Senator Crossing had another daughter. However her work as a covert operative has come to an early end, not because of her father’s ambition to be the next President, but rather because she had very publicly killed the head of an international crime organization while defending a wounded member of her covert team. She had been able to extricate her team but in the process her cover had been blown and her photo released to intelligence services throughout South America and who knew where else.
Soon after Cassandra’s return to the states events begin to spiral out of control; the kinds of dangerous events which she had predicted in her intelligence reports. Terrorists have successfully entered the country and seem to be bent on causing chaos. As the ferocity and number of attacks increase, Cassandra is chosen by the sitting president to deal with the danger. The nature of the attacks creates a political will to act and Cassandra is thrown into a very dangerous situation. The safety of the country as well as her father’s long term political ambitions depend on Cassandra securing the Mexican border.
