FOUNDER, COSMETIC TRANSFORMATIONS
“It has been a privilege to walk along side of Alana during her journey with Breast Cancer. I have learned so much through the eyes of my child and have become so much more a part of her life now that I really could not ask for more.”
Gloria Jean Buzkowski, Alana’s Mom
Alana Somerville is a vibrant, beautiful, stubborn young woman and mother who, when diagnosed with Breast Cancer in 2010 at the age of thirty-three decided that she had no other option but to fight for her life. Instead of wallowing in self pity, Alana fought back and became her biggest advocate, which definitely played a huge part in her survival.
Alana is an elementary school teacher whose love of writing has led her into this career. It was through this passion for writing, teaching and surviving that this book was born. After a year of hell that included a cancer diagnosis, multiple surgeries and chemotherapy, it was through her will to live and not let herself be beat that she became her own advocate and played a major role in her own health care. She was inspired to write this book to help other women realize the importance of a positive attitude throughout this journey called “Cancer”, but she was also wanted to write this book so that her children could one day understand completely about this battle that she fought for them.
