Synopsis

If you knew about The Tournament, you'd know why they want it kept secret. People don't like to hear that state-sponsored war games are going on under their noses, in their cities, and on their streets. The world isn't ready to know that the most powerful among us can shape the future by wagering on these fights. People wouldn't understand if they learned that teams in The Tournament have the freedom to do almost anything, anywhere, to win.

The Tournament was supposed to be the perfect game, and the perfect secret. Frank Youngsmith, a hapless insurance agent, was supposed to be a nobody, none the wiser. But sometimes things just don't work out like they're supposed to. When Frank stumbles into the dark world of The Tournament when the game is on, it's up to him to expose the secret...or die trying.

Blue Fall is the first book in The Tournament Trilogy and is followed by:
Grey Winter (Out Now!)
Black Spring (Just Released!)

Very bad

To be honest, I think I should have only given it one star, but I didn't want to be mean. The author could use some more detail and not have as many characters to make it easier to understand and not be completely lost.

Blue Fall, not what you'd expect!

Enjoyed this so much had to buy the next in the series Grey Winter! The story continues with Black Spring which I'm reading now. Griffith draws you in to the story and makes you start caring what happens to the teams.

This could be a great read, far to many caracters with to much introduction for each, really slows down the effect.

Blue Fail - The Tournament, #1
May 26th, 2015
I am not sure why I picked out this book. (I am no fan of the Hunger Games.) This book hearkens back to that old book, The Most Dangerous Game, but with the lethality (suposedly) removed. You could say that this is the next big thing for paintball players who have grown up, along with the heavy duty gambling by those who felt that hai-lai was too tame. But it was the early-on realization of who the good guys and bad guys were that gives you someone to root for and actually care about. An interesting read!

The Tournament

If you are into an action thriller then you have got to read this riveting novel. I'm glad it's fiction because the thoughts of a killing squad deciding the fate of the world is horrifying.
