Synopsis

A violent novelette where a chance meeting quickly becomes a disaster that has been a long time coming.

Strong language, violence, emotional turmoil. On this chilly night, in this subway station, a bomb of emotional pressure has begun its final countdown.

Bitchfight is a graphically violent and disturbingly emotional story about Denny and Kris, their overdue confrontation, and the consequences of secrets never told and pain never understood. They used to be two of the same, but circumstances and abuse tore them apart. Now, twelve years later, they finally meet and worlds once broken are now forced together. In a collision provoked by unknown forces, two can never again become one.

This novelette has been probed and tinkered with for a long time. Names have changed, parts have been cut, events pondered and frowned over, and bad English whipped into some sort of shape. I started writing this when my knowledge of grammar was close to non-existent and it has gone through more than ten revisions. I could probably work on it for another unknown number of edits but the day came when I simply had to let it go. It’s far from perfect. The emotional state of mind was always more important than point of view and the events themselves so I have gotten quite a lot of advice. As far as technique went, I learned from them and made changes. As far as the point of view and the "literary flavor" and "over the top descriptions" went, I had to bite down and say: this is what I want for this story and it's not a lighthearted genre piece. If I write it your way, it would be something I didn't want. This particular story can not be written any other way; it's not written to be liked; it is what it is and nothing less, nothing more.

Despite that boneheaded attitude, I do hope you get something out of it. You might even like it.
