This was well-written, otherwise it would have been impossible to finish. I like her Jackson Brodie mysteries, but this one was a downer thru and thru!

Kate's debut
November 12th, 2014
Whenever anyone asks me for a book list or recommendations, this is always on it. It's Kate Atkinson's first novel and an incredible debut -- it's a great book for any girl who has a fraught relationship with her mother (that would be all girls, at some point), a really inventive and yet totally readable book.

I really enjoyed this book, however, I expected to like it more. I heard great things about the book and was excited to read it. I wouldn't say I loved it. I enjoyed it but wouldn't read it again. I ldid enjoy that the author describes all of these family interactions and historical events from the perspective of child. It makes it really interesting. I recently read Life After Life by Kate Atkinson and I enjoyed this more than Behind the Scenes at the Museum.
