Synopsis

If you liked THE HUNGER GAMES, you will Love ARENA ONE. --Allegra Skye, Bestselling author of Saved. From Morgan Rice, #1 Bestselling author of THE VAMPIRE JOURNALS, comes a new trilogy of dystopian fiction. New York. 2120. American has been decimated, wiped out from the second Civil War. In this post-apocalyptic world, survivors are far and few between. And most of those who do survive are members of the violent gangs, predators who live in the big cities. They patrol the countryside looking for slaves, for fresh victims to bring back into the city for their favorite death sport: Arena One. The death stadium where opponents are made to fight to the death, in the most barbaric of ways. There is only one rule to the arena: no one survives. Ever. Deep in the wilderness, high up in the Catskill Mountains, 17 year old Brooke Moore manages to survive, hiding out with her younger sister, Bree. They are careful to avoid the gangs of slaverunners who patrol the countryside. But one day, Brooke is not as careful as she can be, and Bree is captured. The slaverunners take her away, heading to the city, and to what will be a certain death. Brooke, a Marines daughter, was raised to be tough, to never back down from a fight. When her sister is taken, Brooke mobilizes, uses everything at her disposal to chase down the slaverunners and get her sister back. Along the way she runs into Ben, 17, another survivor like her, whose brother was taken. Together, they team up on their rescue mission. What follows is a post-apocalyptic, action-packed thriller, as the two of them pursue the slaverunners on the most dangerous ride of their lives, following them deep into the heart of New York. Along the way, if they are to survive, they will have to make some of the hardest choices and sacrifices of their lives, encountering obstacles neither of them had expectedincluding their unexpected feelings for each other. Will they rescue their siblings? Will they make it back? And will they, themselves, have to fight in the arena? ARENA ONE is Book #1 in the Survival Trilogy, and is 85,000 words. Grabbed my attention from the beginning and did not let go….This story is an amazing adventure that is fast paced and action packed from the very beginning. There is not a dull moment to be found.--Paranormal Romance Guild {regarding Turned} A great plot, and this especially was the kind of book you will have trouble putting down at night. The ending was a cliffhanger that was so spectacular that you will immediately want to buy the next book, just to see what happens.--The Dallas Examiner{regarding Loved} Jam packed with action, romance, adventure, and suspense. This book is a wonderful addition to this series and will have you wanting more from Morgan Rice. --vampirebooksite.com {regarding Loved} Morgan Rice proves herself again to be an extremely talented storyteller….This would appeal to a wide range of audiences, including younger fans of the vampire/fantasy genre. It ended with an unexpected cliffhanger that leaves you shocked. --The Romance Reviews{regarding Loved}

A Pointless Review
July 15th, 2015
The book started off good enough, but went downhill after the sister was kidnapped. There were a lot of times when the heroine came close to death, but avoided it. What made this extra annoying was that she kept repeating "my luck is over" and still, rather magically, managed to live. I, as a Hunger Games fan, did not like this book. It slipped the end part to The Mockingjay inside of the story, another thing I didn't like. Overall, the only reason I gave this two stars is because I believe 'hate' is too strong of a word.

Arena One: Slaverunners

It was a god book but alot of the things in it happen over and over. She always gets out of trouble in the last second, so it makes the book ver predicrable. Also, the phrase 'for all it was worth' was very over used as was the word 'greatful', espesialy at the begining of the book. Overall I foud the book ok, because aside from what I pointed out about over used words and frases the authp did a very good job keeping you tied to the book. For those of you how found The Hunger Games a good book but alitle too intense this is the book for you(except for the sexual content).

I did like the story and characters, although I was irritated by the amazing abiliity to recover from bruise to snake bites in just a few hours. But I do want to read more.

Although the premise of the book seemed interesting, the plot was severely underdeveloped. It was written in first-person and every other sentence began with the word "I." Such a disappointment.

Great book! It was non stop action the whole way through. The author could have spent a little more time making personal connections between the characters to make it more believable. Would definitely recommend!

This is an extremely fast paced book, the upstanding idea is gripping and full of drama, however I feel it is similar to a first draft, with some minor grammer errors. Also, a strong imagination is needed as you have to independently build up the society and characters surrounding, an absolute bargain and recommend it to read.

A good start

This reads much like an unedited first or second draft - but has much in the way of promise. Action packed and fast paced - a good start to an exciting trilogy.
