Synopsis

The memoirs of Commander Peter G Chance RCN (Ret'd) which encompasses childhood in Ottawa, enrollment in the RCNVR and sailing under legendary Harry DeWolfe on St Laurent escorting the first Canadian troop convoy in 1939. Later transfering to the permanent force, Chance experienced the Battle of Britain, Invasion of Singapore, North Sea battles, Battle of the Atlantic and D-Day. Later service included the Korean War and command of a frigate and a destroyer.
