When three small time hoodlums come into South Philly and rob a Mob owned poker game, it changes the lives of two men. Joseph “Goldy” Goldman, the son of a Jewish widow, thinks he knows who the set-up man is. Bobby Cippolini, a careless, cocky young Italian who answers only to the face he sees in the mirror. When Goldy discovers Bobby is his half-brother, it sets off a tale of love, Mafia revenge and big-time gambling. The author’s use of sharp “street” dialogue makes the characters as real as a “royal flush.” The fast paced story takes the reader from the streets of South Philly to the “glamour-gangsters and gambling” of Atlantic City in the forties and fifties, and then to the most Mafia-infested, politically corrupt city in the world – Las Vegas. All the time keeping the reader in suspense. The story concludes in Atlantic City with the advent of casino gambling. This is a brilliantly told tale of big-time gamblers, small-time hoods, a Mafia tragedy and a love triangle
