When a car accident takes Leah Sunderland's life, she finds herself in dire need of divine assistance. Her fairy godmother comes to the rescue, but her help comes with conditions. As a fairy godmother, the only assistance she can offer deals with (you guessed it) fairy tales. To win a second chance at life, Leah must play out the tale of The Little Mermaid.

Armed with a mermaid tail and nothing else (not even a voice!), she has one month to make a nobleman fall in love with her, or else she'll die permanently. But the nobleman she must seduce is a hard, fierce warlord who thinks she's a spy and the mistress of his enemy.

Can she win him over before the thirty days are up? Or is she in danger of losing her heart as well as her life?

Little mermaid Leah is NOT.
October 5th, 2014
At points in the story there appeared to be editing errors parts of the story missing leaving big gaps in the conversation, not enough to distract from the entire story but just enough to be noticeable and have me back paging to see if I skipped a page on accident. jill myles is a great author and I have read many of her stories the last few days getting to know this recently discovered author., well New to me anyway. I personally did not feel the love connection between Royce and Leah until the very end the first three quarters of the book I did not feel that Royce was overly in love or mad in lust even. That was very disappointing. I think the story needed a lot more interaction between Royce and Leah even though she cannot speak there should have been more effort made for them to understand each other. He made little effort to try to understand her even without speaking hand gestures body language facial expressions would have done a lot to bring these two together in a more believable way. However I give this story 3 stars because I did like it I read it through and through without pause in a few hours, and it kept me entertained enough that overall I enjoyed the story. However I am going to hope that the next one that I read by this author, since I purchased two this of her books this evening, is at least four stars.
