C.J. Box has created a complex and extremely realistic character in Joe Pickett-you can't help liking him. The adventures his job as a game warden create give you a complex mystery for each book but the wonderfully written relationships between Joe and his family and friends will make each and every book a pleasure to read.

    Savage Run delivers!

This is the second book in the Joe Pickett series and also the second C J Box book I have read. It is a well written novel with believable characters whose simplicity makes them human. The villains are the kind we either have met in real life or believe we could meet. The mountains, scenic images and location of the story are made real for the reader. Although I have never been to this part of America and almost certainly never will I feel like I can "see" it in my mind's eye. Another good read I would recommend.
