A past that is about to explode into her present.

When it does, and everyone she loves is in danger, Claire must face up to her past - and become what she left behind in order to save them.

I got the first two books, and just can't stop reading! Interesting and likeable characters, who have real issues. I will get more of these books.

Entertaining quick read

Maybe, with time, Dean can flesh out her characters as much as Laurel K. Hamilton or Mercedes Lackey do. I'm torn: was the reason that I read this little book to its end, simply that it was so short? It was engaging, and had almost no boring bits, but when I hit the last page, it felt like it should have been just the end of a multi-chapter section, and not the end of an entire book. If you want a breezy read about characters with very un-complex motivations, in a reasonably cohesive world, "Rest for the Wicked" will do. Three-and-a-half stars.
