Roger Taylor follows on from his highly praised Voyages of a Simple Sailor, taking us on three more extraordinary voyages aboard his junk-rigged Corribee Mingming. This simple, rugged 21’ yacht, developed and honed for effortless single-handed ocean sailing, goes where bigger and more sophisticated craft fear to tread. Iceland, Rockall, the Faroes, Jan Mayen, the Greenland ice, with an interlude to the Azores, are all encompassed in these enthralling adventures. Roger has a unique sailing partnership with his yacht Mingming, using her to develop his ideas on simple, harmonious voyaging.

Truly original

While Mingming is a very different boat from my own, I thouroughly enjoyed the three stories in this book. It gives an insight into how it is to sail a truly small boat on some pretty long passages. Well written.

Very much enjoyedRoger's stories of his sailing journeys, the trials and tribulations. Lots of great information for the minimalist solo sailer, coping with the ocean wilderness on a small boat.

A wonderful book, beautifully written by an extremely intelligent and sensitive man. No derring do, no bragging dressed up in fake humility, but an engaging account of the how and why of his chosen way of sailing. The voyages themselves are simply awe inspiring.
