The New York Times bestselling author of the Molly Murphy and Constable Evan Evans mysteries now turns her attentions to “a feisty new heroine to delight a legion of Anglophile readers.”* And the mischief, mishaps, and musings of minor English royalty—circa 1930

Lady Victoria Georgiana Charlotte Eugenie, 34th in line for the throne, is flat broke. She's bolted Scotland, her greedy brother, and her fish-faced betrothed for London. The place where she'll experience freedom, learn life lessons aplenty, do a bit of spying for HRH—oh, and find a dead Frenchman in her tub. Now her new job is to clear her long family name.

“An insightful blend of old-fashioned whodunnit, clever satire and drawing room comedy of errors.”—*Jacqueline Winspear

“Another winner...a smashing romp.”—Booklist (starred review)
“Naïve, charming, and quite smart, Georgie is a breath of fresh air…”—Library Journal

Starts a little slow, then picks up

For the first few chapters, I thought I was mistakenly in some period romance. But then it got going, and held my interest through to the conclusion. I believe I'll buy the next one in the series, so you can take that as a recommendation.
