Synopsis

The long-awaited companion to New York Times bestsellers Graceling and Fire

Eight years after Graceling, Bitterblue is now queen of Monsea. But the influence of her father, a violent psychopath with mind-altering abilities, lives on. Her advisors, who have run things since Leck died, believe in a forward-thinking plan: Pardon all who committed terrible acts under Leck's reign, and forget anything bad ever happened. But when Bitterblue begins sneaking outside the castle--disguised and alone--to walk the streets of her own city, she starts realizing that the kingdom has been under the thirty-five-year spell of a madman, and the only way to move forward is to revisit the past.

Two thieves, who only steal what has already been stolen, change her life forever. They hold a key to the truth of Leck's reign. And one of them, with an extreme skill called a Grace that he hasn't yet identified, holds a key to her heart.

    Still swirling...

Great book as part 3 (not really a series) of the Gracling books. I've enjoyed the journey from the beginning and hope there's another book where Bitterblue and Saf can be together, experience the Dells together, have Po and Katsa around for the adventure, and have Fire tell of what her life with (can't think of his name right now, her husband/former soldier) has been like and how she liked living with him. If this book is the end, I truly miss them and their story already. I'd gladly read all 3 books again.

    Bitterblue

An amazing part to this trilogy, I cannot put it down! After reading all the books before, I have found that the entire series makes much more sense if Fire is read as the final book.

    What a great book

I loved the woman Bitterblue became, against all odds. Loved how all the threads came together. Bitterblue and Graceling thoroughly enjoyed. Thank you.
