    To be needed

This is book # 4 in The Bennetts series. This book can be read as a standalone novel. It is part of an amazing and fulfilling series. Reader enjoyment and understanding are better when read in the order intended. Trevor is fascinated with Sofie even before they meet. Afterwards, he cannot stop thinking about her. While he sees the beauty on the surface like everyone else, he also understands by looking into her eyes that there is so much more to her. Sofie is immediately attracted to Trevor, even before they are introduced. The pull of him is stronger than any other man she has come into contact with. Too bad she is so scarred from the pain and the past where man have used her as a pawn. I found this story absolutely fascinating. It shows more powerfully how looks can be deceiving. I think it also is telling of how even beauty can be a vice. I loved this addition to the series! ***This ARC was given by Netgalley.com and its publisher, in exchange for an honest review.

Sexy, emotional rock your world romance

Every time I read a story by this author I think that she can’t possibly top it, that it’s one of the best stories I’ve read, and she consistently proves me wrong by upping her game with another heart wrenchingly emotional romance. Sofie is an ice princess, and whether you saw her as a secondary character in one of the other Bennett series stories, or you’re just seeing her now, it’s clear that she has learned from a young age to keep her emotions to herself. Sadly she’s learned this the hard way, by never having anyone (except for Walsh’s family and a few close friends) support her. Even her own parents are lacklustre in their acceptance of her, disapproving of her modelling career and her other choices in life. She’s a trophy daughter to them (a tarnished one at that) and they use her for their own devices, just as so many use her for her looks and celebrity, caring nothing for the real woman she is. As a result, she’s learned to keep her own counsel, and to trust no-one, her poor self esteem hidden behind a cold and untouchable facade. When Trevor walks into her life, she’s intrigued by him, but must remind herself not to fall for his charm, his ‘nice guy’ vibe making her very aware of how little she deserves him. But Trevor is persistent in his pursuit of Sofie, in believing she has a depth of character and a desire to do good in the world. It’s a desire that he recognizes from his own past, one that led him to bettering third world countries with his own efforts. While she is quite willing to share her body with him (sex for her being a commodity that doesn’t involve emotion), Trevor makes it very clear that he doesn’t want her body without her heart. He woos her, slowly but surely, and eventually she falls for him just as much as he does for her. They share some steamy love scenes that cement this bond. But what I really loved, what makes Trevor the ultimate book boyfriend, was his unfailing support and belief in Sofie when things got rocky for them. Events from Sofie’s past return, scandal stalks her, and through it all, though she expects Trevor to abandon her at every turn, he is solid as a rock. That, absolutely, is what made the story for me a new favourite. Instead of making the conflict one between the couple, the conflict is Sofie versus the outside world, with Trevor standing by her, and that was just such a treat to read. There were moments in the story that made me laugh, moments that made me cry, emotions pulled out of me left, right, and center. For an author to do that consistently with every story means that they have an understanding of their craft that few others do. I highly recommend this series, and this story in particular, if you are looking for a quality contemporary romance that will break your heart and mend it back together again. 5 stars.

    I LOVED This Book!

"Nothing works without you. You're my fire. You know that, right?" Sofie Baston has lived her whole life in the spotlight. She's made her living from what's on the outside, whether looking down from billboards, or walking the runway. Trevor Bishop is a true man of substance, working to help those that cannot help themselves. Also a great judge of character, Trevor knows that there is more to Sofie than what's on the surface. Helping her to see what he sees may be his biggest challenge ever. Oh, my Lord, this book. I could not get enough of this book. UNTIL I'M YOURS is the first book by Kennedy Ryan that I have read, and I can happily say that she has found a longtime fan in me. This book had me feeling everything. Sofie, for all of her perfected outer witch, has so much more going on. As one of the rich and famous, the world should be her oyster, but events of her past have her searching for something more, something greater. I love that Kennedy has made Sofie more than a caricature, and given us a heroine worth getting to know. She is stronger than even she knows, and watching her growth is truly inspirational. And Trevor, oh, sweet Trevor. He may have spoiled me for future book boyfriends for a very long time to come. His determination to show Sofie that her spark is there, ready to be fanned into the fire that will drive her, his unwillingness to take her at face value and enter a meaningless hook-up, his dedication to family, friends, and the larger world, make him one of the most compelling male leads that I've read in a while. "Is that what I am to you, then?" She looks at me unsmilingly. "A challenge? Something to be achieved?" "I think you're a woman who hasn't even begun to show the world who she is." I consider her for an extra second. "I think in some ways that's something you're still trying to figure out yourself, and people engaged in that process fascinate me." UNTIL I'M YOURS is the fourth in the Bennett series, and can easily be read as a standalone, but I loved it so much that the first three are fast-tracking it the top of my TBR. I loved the characters, the story, just everything about this read, and it will stay with me for quite a while. One of my favorite books so far this year, UNTIL I'M YOURS gets an easy 5+ sexy, swoony, 'now, THIS is what an epic love looks like' stars from me. Add this one to your TBR, and do it quickly, because you must read this book.

I cry without noticing the tears.

It's not that Sofie is unlikable, she perceives herself to be unlovable so she has erected a wall that serves as her defense against hurt and disappointment. She plays her part well. Maybe too well. Trevor is intrigued by the mysterious beauty and senses deep emotion hiding behind the icy facade. I received an ARC of Until I'm Yours by Kennedy Ryan in exchange for an honest review. With all that Sofie kept locked away it's surprising she didn't fall apart sooner. I don't say this often because I hate women being portrayed as the weaker sex BUT I am so glad she had someone who was willing to risk it all for her. Trevor was the white knight Sofie needed in her corner. I have read all four books in the Bennett series and from experience know that this is the one author that I read whose stories are so purely raw that I cry without even noticing the tears. That is powerful storytelling.
