Synopsis

Summary The Jackson Heights Project were written by Jo Anne Meadows from experience of her life and the life of her late dad. Jo Anne had some hard times in life with an alcoholic and an abusive dad, their family were torn apart due the the illness and the surroundings of her dad. Jo Anne decided to write and titled her book, The Jackson Heights Project because this is where they lived during the good and the bad times in her life, she regrets the life they had after her dad started drinking alcohol and became very abusive to her mother. He gave up on working hard and his gospel singing career. Jo Anne really believe her dad would have made it in his singing career if it had not been for certain people in her dad's life. Her mother were a very nice and sweet lady and did not deserve this treatment in her life because of jealous people. Jo Anne has two brothers that also went through a lot of trauma in their lives in Louisville, Kentucky at the hands of some of Louisville police officers. Jo Anne went on to Los Angeles, California where she thought things would really be great and better for her and her children, Jo Anne ran into some obstacles there. Jo Anne dedicates her book titled The Jackson Heights project to her Late daddy Mr. Joseph Meadows Sr. (April 1, 1936-November 04, 1983).
