Synopsis

The third book in the New York Times and USA Today bestselling The Wedding Pact series.

Libby St. Clair believes in fate—so much so, she’s willing to pin everything on a curse a fortune teller placed on her and her two best friends when they were kids. The curse, that each of them will marry before thirty, have a disaster of a wedding, and end up with a man other than her original fiancé, has come to fruition for both of her friends, who are now deliriously happy. But Libby’s attempt to quick-start the curse by proposing to her wrong-for-her boyfriend ends in a wild dash from the altar. She’s rescued by her friend Noah, the only person who understands her impulsive decisions--because he’s the same way.

Having spent most of his adulthood fleeing responsibility and commitment, Noah McMillan is finally ready to grow up. Of course, figuring out how is still a work in progress. When he realizes he’s in love with Libby, he flies to Kansas City to put a stop to her wedding. But Libby’s already pulled a runaway bride. Eager to cheer her up and prove that he can be the man she deserves, he takes her on a madcap car trip that will bring them all the way to the City of Sin.

In Vegas, those who risk it all either win big or lose everything, so what will happen if Libby and Noah take a gamble on love?

Get ready to laugh, cry, and believe in fate
September 2nd, 2015
Denise Grover Swank continues the Wedding Pact series with Libby St. Clair in this installment. Libby truly believes in the prediction and the curse that were made when she her and her friends were kids. While she is set to marry her Nebraska Cornhusker loving fiance, she is waiting for fate to step in and deliver the man of her dreams. Instead, she gets Noah. Denise Grover Swank has injected pain, humor, love, and passion into this story of finding love where you least expect it. Even though this is the third installment, Denise has definitely not skimped on any of the elements you expect to read in a Denise Grover Swank story. The characters, the situations, and the emotion are just as complex here as they were in the first one. As I was reading this story, I was worried that some of the characters were going to be cliche and do the usual stuff that you expect from romance characters. However, I was surprised when a situation would arise and the character(s) had an authentic real-world response. This is definitely a series that can be enjoyed by all.

All bets are off!!

~~I received this in exchange for my honest opinion~~ This is the best book out of the whole series!! It makes a perfect ending to the trilogy. In this book, it's Libby's turn to get married, but is the one that she is walking down the aisle too, really the one for her? There isn't anything that is there to disrupt the wedding, so this has to be the right guy, Right?! Man. What a whirlwind book!! I don't know where to even begin with this book, without giving anything away. Lets just say that there is a road trip, a wedding dress, and a Czechoslovakian Egg. Have a piqued your interest yet? No? Well, let me say that Libby is a free spirit, and there isn't anyone that could slow her down, except Noah. But, is it him that she is supposed to marry or is it Mitch? Denise has written a masterpiece!! This is the best book out of the entire series. I know that I have already said that, but it is the truth! Your blood will start flowing when things pick up, and you will feel the emotion that Denise has put into this book. If you have read the other two, you will need to read this book!

Another amazing book by Denise. I've loved Libby since the first book and it didn't disappoint!! Libby and Noah had an instant connection in The Substitute and to finally have their story come to conclusion is awesome. Libby and Noah clicked instantly. And to see them go through all the emotions fighting their feelings for each other made a great story

Love is a gamble!
September 1st, 2015
The Gambler is the 3rd book in The Wedding Pact series. This book follows Libby's love life and her journey to finding her soul mate.  Libby is the only one of the 3 friends to truly believe in the curse that was predicted for the 3 best friends. As her wedding day and 30th birthday quickly approach, Libby awaits the appearance of her soul mate. The Gambler is Libby's emotional, hilarious, heart wrenching, laugh out loud adventure on her quest for true love.  Denise definitely knows how to write characters that the reader becomes attached to and invested in. Once again she did not disappoint!  I don't want to post any spoilers so you'll have to read The Gambler to find out if the curse is fulfilled for Libby and if she gets her happily ever after. It's definitely worth the read, you won't be disappointed!  I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Betting on Love
September 1st, 2015
Libby St Clair is hoping that the curse that gave her friends their dream relationships will befall her, in fact she is betting on it! But sometimes the people we think are the least likely to step up and sweep us off our feet are the people that surprise us the most. This book is full of laughs, love, and learning to love yourself enough to make your own destiny come true. It will have you up until 2am, even though you know darn well you have to be up at 5am to go to work, just to see what happens next. It is a well written adventure in love, and you can bet this read is worth it!

Noah and Libby are my favorite
September 1st, 2015
WOW!!! That was probably my favorite book in the series. I simply loved every single word in it. The story is so intriguing and captivating that I really didn't feel the time flying. It was like I started reading and the next moment I looked, I was already fifty percent in :) The book is quite a lot of fun to read with lot of humor and fun that will leave you belly laughing for the bigger part of it. But there are also heartbreaking and painful scenes that really touched my heart and brought tears to my eyes. In addition to that, there are quite a few romantic and super hot scenes that are just the perfect cherry on top :) Noah and Libby are quite interesting characters. They are very well developed and have depth that makes them feel quite real. They are fun and have their quirks and feelings, their problems and demons. And in some way Noah and Libby are just perfect for each other. Even though they are both impulsive and some times irresponsible, when they are together, they just complement each other and inspire each other to be better in each aspect of their lives. It is true that they had to go to quite a few hurdles before finally finding the calmness and happiness they both craved, but most of their stepping stones were quite fun to read about. Of course, their path wasn't peppered only with happy experiences. There were the heartbreaking moments of each one of them doubting themselves and also the painful ones of them reliving their pasts and the ghosts that chase them. Thankfully with each others support and a little help from their friends and family, they manage to conquer their fears. And as a bonus to that, Noah is pretty hot :D With his slightly unruly "just-out-of-bed" dark brown hair and long-lashed mesmerizing dark brown eyes sparkling with mischief, he will definitely elevate your breathing. I mean, he is simply pantie melting :) And with her long dark hair, rich brown eyes and clear olive skin, Libby is the perfect compliment to Noah's hotness :) In my opinion, one of the best things in this book, was the combination of Gram and Nana Ruby. Each one of them in her own right are hilarious. But both of them together are just out of this world. With their antics and crazy behavior, they give a humorous and light feeling to the whole book that just makes it all that more fun to read :) And in addition to that, I got the chance to revisit with the couples with the previous books and see how they are doing after their nuptials :) As a whole, I loved reading the book. It was a lot of fun with just a touch of heartbreak and pain but that made it that much better. I think Noah and Libby were my favorite couple in the series. There was just something so endearing about them, that I just couldn't resist letting them in my heart. And the bonus was having both Grams and Nana Ruby in the story :) That was definitely a blast. The only thing I am sorry about is, that was the last book in the series. But I still can't wait to find out what Denise Grover Swank will come up with next :) This review was originally posted at Living In Our Own Story Book Blog. I received an ARC of the book in exchange of an honest review.

A Sure Bet
August 31st, 2015
Words cannot describe how much I loved The Gambler! Getting to know Libby St. Clair and Noah McMillan was a joy. If you thought the story of The Substitute (Wedding Pact #1) was wild, then you better hold on to your hat! Each book of this Wedding Pact series is better than the previous and The Gambler is the PERFECT finale. I'm admittedly not a huge fan of contemporary romances, but I AM a huge fan of Denise Grover Swank's writing. I'm willing to bet her shopping lists are quite enthralling! ;-) She can weave a wonderful story like no other. I think every possible emotion from joy to sheer angry outrage was covered in the 4-ish hours it took me to devour this novel. One thing is for sure, The Gambler is a perfect marriage of humor and drama, and (IMHO) the best contemporary romance Denise Grover Swank has written to date. *****FIVE STARS***** I read an ARC provided by the author in exchange for an honest review, but have also pre-ordered the novel for myself.

Fun and Fantastic
August 31st, 2015
Once again I have to say hats off to you Denise Grover Swank! With the Wedding Pact series you have brought to life the essence of friendship between young girls, young girls who can still believe in magic and can carry it with them through out their lives. In this third installment it is now Libby's turn and she is taking no chances, determined to find her "Happily Ever After" she decides to give the pact and the curse a push and proposes to her current boyfriend but to her horror it seems that the curse has let her down and she is marrying a man she doesn't belong with! Then in steps Noah, Libby's commitment phobic friend and accomplice in hilarity and mischief and together they begin a road trip that leads them to self discovery and each other! Denise's humor and personality shines through in her writing. She has the ability to wrap you in emotions that tug at your heart and make you laugh out loud. With her sharp whit, bright complex characters and stories that are well written and unique, you always get a fun and fantastic read! Thank you Denise!

The Gambler is amazing!
August 31st, 2015
this book was my favorite in the Wedding Pact series. It was so much fun to read that I had hard time putting it down. When Libby and Josh, who are "just friends", head off on an adventure to find the one true love that can make them whole again, it is anything but an easy road to travel. Ending up in Las Vegas was never libby's plan but soon she'll have to decide if finding love is worth the gamble. This book was heartwrenching as well as laugh out loud funny.

LOVE LOVE LOVE

I fell in love with ALL of Denise's books when I started reading the Rose Gardner series. In between books I decided to start reading The Wedding Pact series, I instantly fell in love! I couldn't put the book down! I finished The Substitute and The Player and patiently waited for The Gambler. While, I thoroughly enjoyed all of the books, THE GAMBLER is by far my favorite! I love Noah and Libby, and how real they are! I laughed out loud more than a few times and teared up a few times as well! I absolutely love Denise's books and cannot wait to see what she comes up with next!

The Best, and sadly last, of The Wedding Pact
August 28th, 2015
I received an ARC for an honest review (and also pre-ordered the book prior to receiving it). When this series first came out, I started it to pass time while I waited for Denise's Rose Gardner series. What I didn't expect was that I would fall in love with it so much. All of the Wedding Pact series are amazing, but I honestly think that she outdid herself with this one. I absolutely loved this book! It was impossible to put down. And when I had to, I found my mind unable to think about anything else. Libby is the optimistic believer in magic. She believes that the curse that they were given as children was destined to come true. The only problem was that she wasn't sure if it would come true for her. So she took things into her own hands to get it started. She is such a likable character and you are cheering for Noah and her the whole time. Denise has the ability to make you really feel for each character and this becomes very obvious once you have the chance to delve into the past of both main characters. Beyond a few serious heart-felt moments, you are provided with plenty of comedy from Gram, Nana, Noah's witty comments, and an interestingly disturbing performance. I found myself laughing out loud! I highly recommend this book to everyone. You won't regret it!

Everything is a Gamble - Love most of all!
August 27th, 2015
This is the story of Libby, the ever happy go lucky girl that has always believed in The Pact or Curse which ever way you want to look at it. She knows that the first wedding she plans won't be the one she ends up being married to forever. And it all has to happen before she is thirty, which is only days away. But what she doesn't know is, who is her sole mate that is going to come and stop this first wedding and whisk her away? Of course, her female best friends still don't believe in the pact or curse, so they have no idea what Lib is up to. Even her male best friend Noah thought she was going to marry Mitch for real. And right up until the vows, so did Libby. What happens after, is another hilarious read from Denise. She just has the knack of creating characters with depth and emotion. The third chapter had me laughing all the way, I loved bridesmaid Noah! And we get to hear about Megan and Josh, Blair and Garrett again along with the grandmothers - Grams and Nana Ruby, who take on Vegas Baby! The Gambler is the third and final book in this series The Wedding Pact. I took my time reading this book as I wanted to savour it all. The ending has great closure but it saddens me it has come to a finale, I am still placing bets that Denise may write a standalone book for Megan's brother Kevin - his story needs to be told too. Highly recommend this book even if you haven't read the previous two, but you won't be disappointed in any of these three books.

JACKPOT!
August 27th, 2015
After reading every book in this series, I said, there is no way I will like the next book more, but again I was wrong. The Gambler is my favorite book in the series (don't get me wrong, I LOVED the other two as well), if there were ever two people who I was rooting for to find their HEA, it was Noah and Libby. Libby is the woman who is afraid of commitment, as a result of a traumatic upbringing, still believes in the curse and dreams of finding her soulmate. Noah is a straight up player with no plans to settle down, and as it turns out has some emotional demons of his own. Libby and Noah became fast friends and it took Libby's wedding to someone else to show him just how he really felt. The hilarity and adventures that ensue after Libby runs out of her wedding left me loving these two as a couple. Noah's change is swoon-worthy when he realizes that he loves Libby and what he'll do to make her happy and give her all the time she needs to see that he's the one also....little does he know Libby is having some of the same revelations. And of course the book wouldn't be complete without the cast of characters we know and love from the other books, especially Gram and Nana Ruby, who doesn't love those two! I really love that that this book rounded out the three friends and their HEAs, Denise saved the best for last and you won't want to miss it!

Wonderfully romantic and quirky
August 27th, 2015
I absolutely loved this book. It seems like I have been waiting on this book forever and I was not disappointed. Libby is such a strong woman who doesn't even realize it. She is sweet, down to earth, and quirky, but thinks she is a big screw up. Noah feels the same way about himself, so the two get along great. They both have secrets from the past that they are hiding from everyone, and shapes the way they deal with the world. I loved watching them go from friends to lovers and the discoveries they made along the way. The addition of family to the trip was hilarious. This book is sweet, sexy, and seriously funny. I really hope there is some kind of follow up novel later as there were a few surprises in this one that I would like to see the conclusion of. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

The Perfect Conclusion to The Wedding Pact Series!
August 27th, 2015
I love all the books in this series by Denise Grover Swank, but The Gambler was by far my favorite. Who can resist carefree, spirited Libby and hunky Noah?! They fit so well together and I couldn’t help smile at their friendship and romantic chemistry. Their banter was hysterical! And the sexual tension was so thick a chainsaw was needed to cut it! Whew! I needed a fan and a cool drink! Throw in an off-the-wall wedding, a road trip full of odd-ball tourist attractions, two meddling grandmas, a whole bucket load of self discovery and it was the perfect story. I was sad to see the series come to a close, but the outcome was superb! It was a FIVE STAR awesome book!!! **I received this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review.**

Best book in the series for sure!
August 25th, 2015
I received an advanced copy of this book and all I can say is I LOVE IT! Libby St. Clair is probably the most down to Earth character I've ever read about. Her love for quirky things, her belief in leaving things to fate, her fiery temper, and her unconditional love even when she can't seem to have the strength to love herself. All of these qualities are what makes Libby a character you can identify with. I think this next portion of The Wedding Pact series hits it right on the head about peoples insecurities with themselves and with others. Relationships are hard work, work that Noah and Libby never really put forth in any previous relationship. Watching Noah and Libby finally come to the realization that they truly love one another, with a little help from Grams and Nana Ruby, filled my heart with so much joy for them. I can hardly wait to see what happens next.

Betting on Love
August 24th, 2015
Betting on Love I fell in love with this series from the very first book and waited with SUCH anticipation until the release of the next two. I believed each time I couldn't possibly love the next as much as the last. I. Was. Wrong. (don't tell my husband I admitted that) The Gambler took everything I love about The Wedding Pact series, whirled it into hilarity and romance, and rooted it into my soul. I LOVE Noah and Libby together. I laughed out loud so many times my family started giving me wary sidelong glance like I was losing my mind. Denise has a knack for weaving humor into a story that adds an entirely different depth to it. Let's face it, life is funny if you look for the humor, and she nails it with the entire series. I didn't think anything could be as funny as The Substitute - again, that pesky wrong factor sneaks up! Noah and Libby are going to not only make you laugh but make you root for them SO hard right up until the very end. Nana Ruby and Gram will keep you in stitches, and leave you wondering what they are scheming. I could NOT have imagined a better ending to this series. The way Denise brings the three couples together in the end is full circle ... and just right. Three girls ... a pact ... a curse ... and a happy ending.

You won't go wrong betting on this book!!!
August 23rd, 2015
Fan-freaking-tastic!!! I absolutely LOVED this book. I've been impatiently waiting for Libby and Noah's story since The Substitute(book 1 of the Wedding Pact Series). As always Denise writes it in such a way that you are pulled into the story and feel as though you are right there with the characters. Libby and Noah's transition from best friends to lovers is a heartwarming, witty and sexy journey. You get more backstory of how their friendship has formed and evolved. Both of them are holding onto things that have happened in their pasts that make them feel that they are not good enough and are not worthy of love. I went through all the emotions while reading this book, laughing out loud one moment and at others times was almost in tears. I loved Grams and Nana Ruby together taking on Las Vegas. I don't know where Denise comes up with the things that Grams and Nana Ruby say and do but it is hilarious!! I was glad to catch up with all the main characters of this series. I am sad to see it end, but Denise did a great job wrapping it up. If you haven't read the previous books, I suggest you wait no longer. You will not be disappointed. I received an ARC (advanced readers copy) of this book for my honest review.
