A young woman has been murdered in River City. Police Detective John Tower is assigned to the case but there are few clues to go on. As he digs into the case, he's soon picking up hints that this murder may not be the killer's first ... or his last.

Virgil Kelly lives in the shadowy world of the criminal underground. He's just arrived in River City with a single-minded mission: find his daughter’s killer and bury him.

In his search for a murderer, Tower uses his experience and training along with all the expertise of modern forensics.

In the hunt for his prey, Kelley uses intimidation and violence, tools which he wields with precision and anger.

Virgil Kelley and John Tower are on a collision course. Somebody is going to die.

River City will never be the same.

Loved this book and the way the story was told from two different first person perspectives. Will continue to look for books from this author.

Racy, rather predictable, but narrated well. Finishes off nicely. You get what you wanted, a crime and the solution.

Athoroughly enjoyable read ... but

Really enjoyed this. Great story with an interesting structure ... which actually worked to enhance the narrative. Would read more and will look at more from these two authors But The conversion to eBook was appalling. Pages with only one line; or two lines one each at the top and the bottom. Misspelling of characters names Angie and Andie for the same character on the same page. Spoiled the flow with me stopping to work out who the devil this new character was. I didn't notice it so much in the latter part as the plot accelerated. This was a freebie, but if I'd paid for it I would not be quite so sanguine!

This is a very fast moving murder mystery. Very hard boiled in the beginning but emotions and good characters came alive. Enjoyed it very much and could not put it down.
