When we think of food, any kind of food, we overlook every factor with the exception of the taste of the food and the need to see satiate our hunger. What we fail to take into account however is are what we ingest. Are we getting true nutritional value or merely a simulation of a wholesome meal ? Michael Moss gets in the trenches of what would normally be a mundane subject and crafts a very entertaining, informative, and truly frightening account of the American dietary zeitgeist . It's a very dark look in the mirror for all of us and how we treat our bodies and a very dire warning of what will happen to us if we make no personal effort to hold corporate processed manufacturers who treat us not unlike a drug pusher treats his buyers accountable, as well as personal accountability to ourselves to fix our health problems. Save some money on that extra value meal or super sweet cup of overpriced coffee and buy a copy of this book. It may just save your life. I value it highly as I undergo a personal quest to diligently diet and exercise.
