But beyond the elbows and the early baths, the booze, the birds and the brawls, there is a poignant human story, the ultra-competitive dad, the uncontrollable temper and the uncanny ability to make the wrong decision at the wrong time, all of which cost him the chance to play football at the highest level and sent Roy down a path of self-destruction... albeit one along which he had the time of his life!

Good honest read.

I know Roy from my time in Spain but read this with an open opinion. The Roy I know is a good honest bloke a man truly passionate about his football. Too many biographies by the big club boys try to create a pedestal for people to admire them but Roy has stripped himself bear no heirs or graces some of the reader may dislike him im sure looking back hes his biggest critic but lower lrague football is about blokes just trying to earn a wage and Roy has summed it up perfectly..
