Pine Harbour is the new romance capital!

Fabulous! Dani and Jake may no longer be so widely separated by their 5 year age difference but when you have 2 families to tightly woven together in friendship, if things don't go well their entire worlds could implode! I love best friends brother/sister trope and this is an excellent example. Wonderful characters facing adversity from family, interference from a former fling and reluctance to destroy their existing friendship all make an intense and wonderful story!!

Love this girl and him of course. Some men would have taken advantage of young love, but he handled it with grace and love. It's always good when you wait for you know is "yours". Sometimes it comes, sometimes it doesn't but you can always dream through stories like this one.

So happy for Dani and Jake
June 20th, 2015
I loved the second book in the Pine Harbour series, Love in a Snow Storm. The heroine and hero, Dani and Jake have, ironically, what I consider a mature love. Ironic because what has held them back all these years was Dani's young age. You see them fighting what they feel for each other at the beginning of the book, which reflects what they have both been going through for years, fighting their feelings for each other. While they are struggling with what they feel for the other, neither knows the other also has feelings. I think I was most struck by how they handled their first major fight. Jake leaves his house after thehy fight - albeit not without a comment about how he couldn't stay where he could smell her. He barely gets down the street before he realizes that's not the right way to handle the fight, and heads back home. Dani knows she can't just storm out after they fight, so she hunkers down until Jake returns to discuss what their issues are. So, each of them maturely realizes that for this to work, they have to stay and fight for it, even if it means fighting for each other. That's much more mature than I often see in couples who are older and have been together longer. I even liked how the author handles even the potential wrinkle in Dani and Jake's relationship, which I won't disclose here. Dani and Jake keep the lines of communication open, appear to discuss what they are feeling openly, and keep no secrets between themselves or others (except of course, the fact that they are dating and in love). In the Pine Harbour series, the author really creates a town where I feel like I know the residents. I would love to date a Foster or a Minelli man. She has created a group of strong, alpha men who live and love fully and show amazing sensitivity to the women in their lives, even when they are being a bit boorish. And I love how the author gives us a teaser about the next great relationship in Pine Harbor at the very end of the book - makes me want to head back to Pine Harbor as soon as possible!

Love in a Snow Storm Pine Harbour #2 by: Zoe York Thanks. I have been introduced to both a new author and a series I have never read before. This brief glimpse allowed me to take the time and try out an author that I had never read before. I enjoyed the book and am looking forward to reading the rest of the series

A friends to lovers romance
December 19th, 2014
This sexy small town romance is the story of Dani and Jake. Dani's had a crush on Jake forever, but the 8 years separating them and the fact that he's her brother's best friend has meant she's spent a long time trying to get him out of her system. But when Jake is finally ready to ante up and show Dani that he's not going to run from his feelings for her anymore, is it too little too late? I loved this story! Zoe has the knack of creating characters that the reader wants to know about - their hopes, their loves, their dreams and their failures. Though Dani started out with a teenage crush on Jake, it's morphed into something much more adult and finally (finally!) Jake admits to himself that he can't resist her pull anymore. I really liked that Dani was comfortable showing Jake that she wasn't a kid, that their love scenes were between two mature consenting adults. (and yes, those love scenes are steamy!). In any relationship there is the dynamic of family in the background, and with these two, that's a significant part of the story - how it affects them and how they deal with it is part of the attraction of the story for me. There are so many characters to like in this town, shared with us via witty dialogue and friendly camaraderie, with laughter and tears. Pine Harbour is a town everyone should visit. 5 stars for this entertaining and sexy read!

Nothing cold about this snowstorm!
December 16th, 2014
*ARC provided in exchange for an honest review* I think this is one of the best novels by Zoe York to date. The things that I liked best was the work done with the main characters. So many times in this genre the men are either super-macho alpha males or they sound like 30 year old women. There is rarely anything else in between. With Jake's character he sounds and acts like a normal man. He has deeper thoughts and emotions but as is often the case, he has a lot of trouble articulating them. He sounded like a real man with faults, issues and insecurities which he dealt with like a lot of males. Dani was also a great character because while she was a bit younger than Jake she had grown up and become a woman who knows exactly what she does and doesn't want. She has her insecurities as well (as we all do) but in the end made Jake realize that she was his equal and not some little girl anymore. There was also a little twist which was interesting and unexpected that added a bit of a more serious dimension to the story which was refreshing. There were hints about it but it still ended up being a bit of a surprise which is always good.

Book Review - Love in a Snow Storm
December 16th, 2014
Sexy and sweet and funny, York packs a lot into Love in a Snow Storm - beautifully capturing small town life and the hardships that can come from falling in love in a little community. She also gives us a great set of supporting characters, who not only add extra depth to the story but also wonderfully set up possible of future stories. Enchanting and Spicy !
December 16th, 2014
Enchanting, spicy adult romantic read ! Pine Harbour is a small town where families know one another. Like the Foster and Minnelli families. Their kids grew up together. The Fosters have 4 sons while the Minnellis have 3 sons and a daughter, the youngest. Jake Foster is a construction worker and an army reservist. He's a responsible, smart, hardworking who's been attracted to Dani, the Minelli daughter. since she was in high school. Her brother, Rafe is his best friend and Jake has always been a "big brother" to Dani. O way he'd approach Dani as anything but a friend. He's too old for her. The timings never been right. Dani is a 20 year old paramedic (EMT). She's smart, responsible, beautiful, and she's not shy! She's been enamored with Jake for years as well. She's approached Jake about their shared attraction. He doesn't deny it but won't act on it. What will it take for Jake to realize the time is now!? (This is the second book in the series. I didn't read the previous book yet but had no problem following this book.) There are other situations happening to add to the small town flavor. This was a pleasant trip to Pine Harbour! There were well developedcharacters, good dialog and sexy scenes! I'll be sure to take another trip there soon. I received this book free for an honest review.
