Synopsis

THE #1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER

On a warm summer morning in North Carthage, Missouri, it is Nick and Amy Dunne’s fifth wedding anniversary. Presents are being wrapped and reservations are being made when Nick’s clever and beautiful wife disappears. Husband-of-the-Year Nick isn’t doing himself any favors with cringe-worthy daydreams about the slope and shape of his wife’s head, but passages from Amy's diary reveal the alpha-girl perfectionist could have put anyone dangerously on edge. Under mounting pressure from the police and the media—as well as Amy’s fiercely doting parents—the town golden boy parades an endless series of lies, deceits, and inappropriate behavior. Nick is oddly evasive, and he’s definitely bitter—but is he really a killer?

Good until it wasn't

I liked the story until the ending which i found to be rather disapointing. I felt that the writer could have gone in a direction that would nicely wrap up the story and leave the reader satisfied. A sense of justice. But instead it ended abruptly and left me wondering what the point was. Other then that i found that the pace was rather nice and i liked the little twists through out the story.

Everyone went crazy for this book and i simply cannot understand why. It was well written, the author is a good writer. However, the plot line was too disturbing to enjoy this novel. The time spent reading this book is time in my life i will never get back.

Just too many twists... No one gets away that long, with that many permutations... Finished, just to finish it.

One of the worst books I have ever read...two unlikable characters in a sociopathic setting with a very unsatisfying ending.

The book started off really slow and picked up a little just to build you up to a MAJOR disappointment. I don't even want to watch the movie.

Gone Girl

At first I had a hard time getting last the first few chapters. I found it boring and it felt like it went on and on. However, as soon as we got to where Nick finds all the stuff in the shed, then it starts getting real interesting. Gone Girl keeps you captivated to the point that with every page turned, you can hardly wait to see what's going to happen next. I found myself at the edge of my seat always anticipating her next move and she never disappointed! It was a great read and highly recommended!

I have ever read Thrillers before, but this one tempted me. I went from hating one main character to hating the other main character to hating them both. I may try other of Flynn's books
