Dominic Trevino had been called a lot of things.

But he was most notoriously known as Dirty Dom.

Because that was who he was…for the most part.

It just wasn’t all he was.

His tortured past was as stained as his licentious reputation, and that was exactly how he’d designed it. It was the only way he knew how to cope with the ghosts that still kept him caged in horror and self-loathing. But the day Raven came tearing into his life—her temper as hot as her teeny tiny shorts—he knew he could never be placated with faceless hook-ups again. Still, he couldn’t let her see who—and what—he really was inside.

Raven freed him from his past…freed him from his pain.

She saved him.

Even though she didn’t believe he was even worth saving.

From the author of New York Times bestseller, Fear of Falling, comes a full-length, spin-off standalone about unbreakable friendships, the power of healing, and learning to love through forgiveness.

    Beautiful love story

Afraid to Fly is by far one of my favorite reads this year. I just loved Dom and Raven's tug of war relationship. From the very first word I was hooked. There was so much pain in both Raven and Dom that I often found myself crying, feeling everything that they felt because of the extraordinary writing of S.L. Jennings. Underneath the sexy, "Dirty Dom." lays a very sensitive, loving and vulnerable man. Once Dominic loves, he loves with everything he has. However, he doesn't allow many in to see that part of him. What he endured as a child brought me to my knees. No one should ever have to live through that kind of pain or torture. Raven is a strong, independent woman who has been left with the responsibility to raise her younger mute brother. She too has suffered her share of pain growing up and doesn't trust many. When Raven and Dom meet, it isn't hearts and roses. Dom is intrigued by Raven's spunk and beauty, but Raven is not at all taken by Dom. Dom doesn't realize that he and Raven have shared a past, but Raven does. Raven is not at all happy that Dom has been assigned to work with her brother Toby, and makes it very clear to Dom. However, as time passes, Raven and Dom eventually develop a friendship which slowly becomes more. Can two broken spirits fix one another? Can Dom overcome his past and believe he deserves love? Afraid to Fly brought on so many emotions: love, hate, regret, vulnerability, humility, judgement, fear, love, hope, forgiveness, and trust. Afraid to Fly is one of those stories that stays with you days after you've finished it. Thank you S.L. Jennings for once again delivering an unforgettable story.

    Sweet Dom

This story is very deep. I teared up several times. Dom is one of the sweetest and most tragic personas ever. I loved him right away. He had a total crap past and has turned it into motivation to save others from the same. The man he is now combined with all of the flashbacks of his experiences— Oh! My heart. Be prepared for floods of emotion. I didn't connect as much with the female lead or her story. I think I absolutely loved this book until around 80 percent. I still really liked the story overall, but some of the last 20 percent took away from the previous amazing connection and flow. Dom will always stand out as one of my favorite characters. He touched a special place in my heart. The author really outdid herself creating such a lovingly conflicted role. He's the perfect sweet dream.

    Real and Raw

Very well written, giving an emotional glimpse into the pain and suffering of victims of abuse and the healing power of friendship and love. Heartbreaking story with real and confronting subject matter. My heart broke for the characters.
