    A slow wartime yarn

I wish I could continue to support Ellie Dean as ive enjoyed her previous war times tales of Cliffehaven but this book was so slow with a weak and predictable story line. The. Whole 'ach to be sure' and 'tis a terrible shame' Irish twang is wearing very thin and is used liberally when theres nothing else to add interest to the story. Whats puzzling is that both Ron and his son Jim have such strong Irish accents but apparently Ron has lived in Cliffehaven in Sussex for most of his life! The editor should've seen to that unbelievable line. Theres clearly a sequel in the works but I won't be rushing to read it.

    Puzzled

What a gripping story line. The characters are so believable, I feel I know them. But what a strange ending. It's as if the last chapter has been forgotten! I do hope there is a sequel.

    Good story but unsatisfactory ending

Liked the story and well told. Characters believable and well described. The ending was abrupt and left a lot of unanswered questions, as though there was a sequel but there doesn't appear to be one!
