"We follow our protagonist from age sixteen to old age and learn about the Navajo’s way of life, believes, religion, dances and fears. While guiding and protecting the wagon train through Navajo territory. they fall in love, but it’s not to be. The wagon train is attack by Apaches and Golden Hair is taken prisoner. Our hero takes up the hunt and fi nds Golden hair after fi ghting and wounding the son of the Chief of Apaches. The reader garners the history and life of the Indian Nations and the horrible treatment Golden Hair received from the Apaches and the many confl icts Two Bears has with the US government throughout his sojourn as Chief of the Navajos."
