While riding his bicycle to work, Ryan Malloy is struck by lightning. In four days, he’ll emerge from a coma completely normal, except for the music he now hears when he eats something. The lightning strike re-wired Ryan’s brain, a little jolt that pushed him into a new undiscovered stage of human evolution. Food now sings to Ryan through chemical communication. Ryan enjoys this new experience, favoring a diet of ice cream and bacon because of the incredible songs they produce. Amy, his chemist girlfriend, is curious about what these songs sound like, so Ryan creates an electronic replica of the ice cream song she can hear. This leads to the shocking discovery that anyone who hears the song instantly craves and experiences the flavor of ice cream. Ryan and Amy are convinced their discovery will make them billionaires, but when the song is accidently unleashed on the public, the results are frightening, and the phenomenon becomes a threat to national security, which leads to serious trouble for both of them.
