Synopsis

As a curate in the tiny village of Polblaze, John Gosling leads an exceptionally quiet life, with little to worry him beyond the weekly sermon and the dilapidated state of the church tower. But when a visiting millionaire is found murdered on the cliff path, the young clergyman is forced to admit that the tranquil haven of Polblaze is home to a ruthless killer. With the help of a visiting journalist, Gosling sets out to find the culprit.

Originally published in 1929, this lively murder mystery from the golden age of crime fiction is evocatively set against the spectacular scenery of the Cornish coast.
