When a winter storm forces a family who have gathered for Christmas to stay inside, they listen to their grandmother's heartwarming stories.

Louisa May Alcott (1832-1888) was an American novelist.  Born in Massachusetts, Alcott was educated by her father but also received instruction from Henry David Thoreau, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Nathaniel Hawthorne, and Margaret Fuller, all friends of Alcott's family.  Her best known works, LITTLE WOMEN, LITTLE MEN, and JO'S BOYS, were based on the childhood experiences of Alcott growing up in Concord, Massachusetts.
