Synopsis

Dan Garrett has become exactly what he hates—popular. Until recently, he was just another live-action role-playing nerd on the lowest rung of the social ladder. Cue a massive growth spurt and an uncanny skill at taking three-point shots in basketball and voilà...Mr. Popular. It's definitely weird.

And the biggest drawback? Going from high school zero to basketball hero cost Dan the secret girl of his dorky dreams.

A band geek with an eclectic fashion sense, Zelda Potts's “coolness” stat is about minus forty-two. Dan turning his back on her and the rest of nerd-dom was brutal enough, but when he humiliates her at school, Zelda decides it's time for a little revenge—dork style. Never mind that she used to have a crush on him. Never mind that her plan could backfire big time.

It's time to roll the dice...and hope like freakin' hell she doesn't lose her heart in the process.

    Amazing

This is one of the funniest, most entertaining books I've read in a long time. A wonderful YA story about navigating the high school and all the cliques that involves. Always steadfastly in the nerdy crowd, Dan Garrett has recently made his way into the popular crowd and he doesn't like it! What's more is that his old crew and specifically his dream girl Zelda seems to be mad at him, so what's a guy to do?? Determined to stay true to himself he's determined to find out exactly what Zelda's problem is so he can fix it! This book is wonderfully written and full of humor and witty banter that had me laughing until I cried. I loved these characters and wish I had known them in school. This is definitely a book I recommend to everyone!

    Feel Good Read

I enjoyed Romancing the Nerd, it was a feel good read, that I think I was smiling and snickering all the way through reading. Dan was such a sweetheart, who I think just lost his way a little with his new found popularity and too much pressure from his parents, I mean it is High School we do need to have a bit of fun even if it's the nerdy kind!!!! Zelda, I felt had grown so much as well as still being quirky self. This read is definitely ok for the young ones, I would let my daughter read it, when she is a teenager. I absolutely loved the epilogue, made me laugh at their poses for their photos for the Valentine dance. Very enjoyable read that I would recommend to my friends. Cute and Nerdy

This book was cute and oh so nerdy. I loved Zelda and Dan. They used to be friends before he started playing basketball and became popular. Now, they're no longer friends. After an incident at school, Zelda decides that she'll get revenge... Except that never works out the way you want it to. I loved all of the Harry Potter references, cosplay, and LARP. There's some angst and humor which makes me want to go back and read The Summer I Became A Nerd. *I received an ARC from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.*
