Meet Chris. A typical seventeen year old from a single parent family who is drawn into a parallel world where spirits lurk, creatures kill, warriors battle and treachery is a part of everyday life. With a mom who doesn’t believe him, a princess who needs him, a seer who is waiting for him and demons that fear him, he must decide if he has the courage and faith to change a world or be content to merely survive. While working on a diorama at his home in a suburb of Chicago, Chris experiences dreams and visions of a medieval world drenched in darkness. As the experiences intensify with manifestations of both demons and angels, he questions his sanity and struggles to understand what’s happening. The Darkness that haunts his dreams empowers the religion of the Philosophy of Mysteries. Buried within the writings of its book is an obscure prophecy about the Sleeper, one who is to come and deal a mortal blow to the Darkness. For centuries the human hierarchy within the religion has ignored the prophecy as nonsense. But, both demonic and angelic realms have been watching and waiting for the Sleeper to be revealed — the first for his destruction and the second for his protection. An old priest of the Philosophy of Mysteries penetrates the depths of the Shadows within the Darkness. His eyes are opened and he sees the hideous evil churning at its core, like a sea of maggots in a rotting carcass. He begins the rebellion against the very power that he has helped build and becomes the forerunner of the Sleeper, until Chris, the rebel priest and the princess of the hostile Northlands are supernaturally brought together in the midst of the Southland’s brewing battles. With the help of the priest, Chris accepts that he is the Sleeper, but struggles as he is at a complete loss about what to do and how to stop the madness and destruction seems to reign unchecked. As this unlikely alliance of three develops and seeks to find its way, a terrifying army of unprecedented size from the unknown Darklands prepares to invade where the Sleeper is to begin his mission. Time is not his ally. He must learn quickly before this strange world is swallowed by the Darkness. . Mind Shadows Trilogy is not a mindless hack and slash. There are five intertwining, converging plots filled with intrigue, action, romance and the supernatural. Each plot has strong characters wrestling with life and racing towards a collision that will change lives in two worlds. There’s Bryn, a banished warrior who’s forced into the kingdom of his enemy where he becomes the un-likely commander of the king’s guard; the Southland’s king, Richard, who loves his people but is trapped in his grief at the loss of his wife and infant son; Lady Emily whose husband is murdered beside her as they sleep; Rachael, a young prostitute with a dream of being rescued; Danielle, the Northland’s warrior princess who finds she’s really just a vulnerable young lady; Nathan, a king’s agent who is an angel disguised as a human; William, a high priest who seeks to become a god; Rath, a Northland warlord who plots to rule a world and an arch demon, B’Shael, who stands on the verge of enveloping a planet in the chaos of Darkness. These are but some of the main characters amongst a cast of many.
