Synopsis

Honor. Truth. Loyalty. Love. All of these matter most to Sir Gerald. To avenge his love's death, he challenges her murderer to a duel. Her twin, however, feels that Alice never loved Gerald and gives him a tea. Alice had also given him teas, which enhanced his love for her, but this tea is different. This tea sends him to into the future, to the Regency era.

Lady Vanessa seeks a Christmas treat when she hears something outside the manor. Upon investigation, she sees a man dressed in armor. Unwilling to turn away a confused man with the approaching holiday, she convinces her parents to house Gerald until the new year.

Scandal has forced her parents to accept William as their daughter's best chance at marriage. Although rich, he does not understand her or her love of books and only sees her for her looks, whereas Gerald listens to her, confides in her and she him. With the approaching holiday, nothing is certain - not whether Gerald can discover a way back to his duel, whether he can move on from Alice, and not whether this Christmas will be a happy one for either Gerald or Vanessa.

When a lady meets a knight...

"Honor, truth, and loyalty will only get ye so far. Love, though, it lifts ye up, alters your very outlook on life, changes your life itself. Love is all that matters." That quote itself had made me fell in love with the book. There were just something beautiful and timeless about this story. The hero had travel through time to meet his true love. Sir Gerald wanted to avenge Alice's death more than anything else. So when Alice's twin, Terese told him that Alice loved many men, Gerald was really livid. She gave him tea which sent him to six hundred years later. Lady Vanessa was surprised when she met a man with full armor suit outside her manor. When she saw the confused man, she wanted to help him since it was nearly Christmas. Gerald was a bit rough on the edge but he was an attentive listener to Vanessa. He made her feel safe and happy despite her parents forcing her to marry the boring William. But he wanted to go back to his duel in the past. Can he find his way back? Will he want to go back? Vanessa was an intelligent lady who feel trapped in her own house since her parents wanted her to marry William. Even though she understood her parents' motive, she wanted to be in love. Gerald proved to be much more entertaining with his own medieval way. Will he be her medieval knight? I really love everything about the story. The Christmas spirit, medieval knight, regency time, the view about love and time-travel theme were great combinations for the book. This book is invaluable. I can't stop reading the book and the secrets within the tea were really interesting. It really changed my view about medieval time. I wish it would be longer. I received a complimentary copy in exchange of an honest review.

    A Sweet Time Travel Romance

"Love though it lifts ye up, alters your very outlook on life, changes your life itself. Love is all that matters." Honor: Medieval England: Sir Gerald is just a knight protecting the honor of the woman he loved. Alice, believed murdered by a jealous rival knight, has Sir Gerald believing that he has to fight in a duel. His plans are thwarted by Alice's sister Terese, who begs Gerald not to fight. She also mentions that Alice did not only love Gerald but many others as well. "My sister, my twin...she died for loving too much. Victor killed her out of jealousy but not merely geared toward ye." Sir Gerald begins to doubt himself but in the end does not heed Terese's words. On the day of the duel Terese apologizes and gives him a tea to drink. Later, Gerald wakes up and fears that he missed his opportunity. Love: Regency England: Lady Vanessa stumbles upon the good knight and takes him back to her parents house, hoping that Christmas charity will prevail. Poor Gerald knows he's in another time and believes he must get back, his only hope is Vanessa. He takes it upon himself to convince her that he is from the past. During this time Sir Gerald comes to some realizations. "Alice's drinks, yes, they had fueled his love for her, made his feelings for her stronger...." However, he still believes that he needs to go back, revenge is what fuels him. Although, Vanessa believes him a little crazy, she helps on his quest. She has her own reasons to occupy herself. Her parents are trying to land her a husband. A most disagreeable man, William is definitely not husband material. As the effects of the teas wear off, Sir Gerald starts getting true feelings for Vanessa and puts upon himself to protect her from William, who has proved to be a horrible man. The story picks up the pace and ends with an exciting kidnapping situation and a HEA. My thoughts: Sir Gerald's outlook on love in the beginning of the story is so romantic and fitting for a what a knight should represent. However, once his ego took a blow, he became disenchanted with that sentiment. "...it is a scar that can never heal." Vanessa was important to help heal Sir Gerald and tells him not live solely for the sake of revenge. It was a sweet time travel romance that had both characters overcome their obstacles and truly let love in. I was a little worried how Sir Gerald was going to support Vanessa and himself after he professed his love to her, but it really worked out for the best. The really exciting parts happened toward the end and it was worth the wait. William was a well written nasty man. Just glad that love truly conquers all.
