Leonardo da Vinci came to Milan a broke, unemployed artist. He left Milan 16 years later as a broke, unemployed artist, fleeing the French. But in the years in between he worked for Duke Lodovico, painting the Last Supper, designing an Equestrian Monument, planning several wedding festivities, and much more.

This novel follows his adventures through the streets of Milan as he studies, experiments, designs, and more.

With more than a passing interest in Leonardo da Vinci, Catherine has been researching, teaching, and writing about him for more than a decade. Her first work on him was a short, but fairly complete biography, Da Vinci: His Life and His Legacy, Leonardo the Florentine was her first novel, in the series, The Life and Travels of Da Vinci, followed by Leonardo: Masterpieces in Milan, and Leonardo: To Mantua and Beyond. She plans to continue this historical series over the next few years.
