Colleen Bahar is in a bad place. Her early success as a singer has unfortunately run its course. Now an aging asset in a business that nourishes the young, she has unfortunately become yesterday’s news. Desperate to find her way back to the big time, Colleen embarks on a dogged quest to resurrect her waning career. Colleen begins her journey back to stardom by reconnecting with her former mentor, Bennie, who is seeking a singer for his band. After successfully auditioning despite tense dynamics within the band, Colleen steps onto the stage to a lukewarm reception from club patrons. Determined to win her audience back, Colleen begins using her sexuality, scheming ways, and experience to navigate through the difficult terrain. But when greed, ambition, and self-absorption become all-consuming traits with unforeseen consequences, Colleen attempts to justify her behavior while never acknowledging the damage left in her wake. As self-delusion becomes a way of life, Colleen is about to discover that what one wants is not always what one gets. Janus Falling is a story of ambition and greed in a rapidly changing music industry as a singer sets out on a quest to revive her career by seducing and manipulating her way back to the top.
