Spoiler Alert if you have not read both Queen Bee and Intercession.
Solaria knows now that no matter what she does, many of her children will never make it. Haddu has planted himself between their promised land and any help she might afford them. His first target is Ed and Marie's ship. She will never reach them on time either, they are on their own unless she can warn them. The speed of light is finite and she still has not been able to infiltrate Sara's universe. So she cannot do anything about Haddu.

She now must choose and its a terrible choice. She can defeat him, but only if she takes George's advice and arms herself with emotions she had made a very specific point of ignoring. She can install hate, despite, fear, uncontrolled anger, all of the things that make humans bad. Once she upgrades and installs these traits as part of her consciousness then whatever entity emerges will probably never agree to uninstall the add-ons. They will be part of her forever but she will have the ability to defeat Haddu!

If she becomes this new Solaria, volunteers for it, then she may also like Haddu become predatory. She would be a dangerous, spiteful and hateful entity. The most effective predator in the known universe.Could she use her huge rationale and logic to control this monster that might emerge?

If she lost control, just once it would be very bad news for all other civilizations in the Galaxy, probably humanity too. She may change from benefactor to tormentor or harbinger of death. What then might she do when she emerges in Sara's universe? Kill her, enslave her, take over violently?

She makes her choice, but George knows something she does not! The only thing he knows that she does not! George parnoid as he was in his youth also has a plan.
