What if your best friend was a ghost?
This is what happens to 9 year old Ginny, when her family moves into a new home. It's luxurious and there's lots of space to run and play, but this is a house of secrets.
Bobby used to live here too, but that was before the accident. Now, lost between two worlds, he relives happier days, clinging to those who can see him. But this child is trapped by a dark spirit. The Nightmare Man has been there from the beginning. Like a ghostly vampire, he drains life-energy from Ginny's unwitting family, as they try to understand what they can't believe.
As angry in death as he was in life, the Nightmare Man uses the energy he steals to slide into their dreams, manipulating objects and slamming doors as he passes by.
While her parents try to come to grips with something they can't believe in, Ginny embraces the truth with childish innocence. This negative spirit is the cause of her family's anger and her own terror. Somehow, he holds her new friend hostage, keeping him from the light and the love of his family.
And he's growing stronger every day.
