An affluent Freshman in High School in Palo Alto California starts to sell grams of cocaine to his classmates before moving up to kilograms. Adolfo, an up and coming Colombian drug lord begins strategizing by how best to grow his drug trafficking organization safely, while killing off his competition. The novel Cartel explores how cocaine and the drug war touches every single person, from the dealers, to the traffickers, consumers and the politicians. Drugs penetrate every single aspect of society no matter ones socioeconomic class, and Cartel demonstrates this in a realistic manner.
