Synopsis

Includes a new chapter!

When Jenny Lawson was little, all she ever wanted was to fit in. That dream was cut short by her fantastically unbalanced father and a morbidly eccentric childhood. It did, however, open up an opportunity for Lawson to find the humor in the strange shame-spiral that is her life, and we are all the better for it.

In the irreverent Let’s Pretend This Never Happened, Lawson’s long-suffering husband and sweet daughter help her uncover the surprising discovery that the most terribly human moments—the ones we want to pretend never happened—are the very same moments that make us the people we are today. For every intellectual misfit who thought they were the only ones to think the things that Lawson dares to say out loud, this is a poignant and hysterical look at the dark, disturbing, yet wonderful moments of our lives.

So funny. Laugh out loud funny. My husband kept coming to check on me while I read this because sometimes I was laughing so hard I couldn't catch my breath. Jenny Lawson is a gifted writer and story-teller.

One of the best books I've ever read. Right up there with Confederacy of Dunces. A laugh a minute.

    Terribly Human

I love the Bloggess, and her memoir showcases all the best of her zany adventures with her signature irreverent humour. The book is a hilarious look into the life of a woman whose irreverent perspective of the world shows good humour in the face of her own embarrassment. So funny!

    You'll die laughing

This book had me crying I was laughing so hard. And the pictures really help give you an idea of her life. Her writing is how I imagine she talks. Its not like a book so much as a conversation with your funny, weird friend. I recommend this book to anyone asking whats good. I think I've read it 5 times now, and it's still as funny as ever.
