    A sensuous feast of fiction

    A retrospective novel, where the legendary chef Escoffier looks at his loves and losses throughout his life through food. While he created sumptuous feasts and named grand dishes for the famous across Europe, including his mistress Sarah Bernhardt--he remains in a quandery--he has never made a namesake dish for his wife.
