Truth is stranger than legend . . . and your journey into both begins here.

World adventurer and international monster hunter Josh Gates has careened through nearly 100 countries, investigating frightening myths, chilling cryptozoological legends, and terrifying paranormal phenomena. Now, he invites fans to get a behind-the-scenes look at these breathtaking expeditions.

Follow Gates from the inception of the groundbreaking hit show (at the summit of Kilimanjaro) to his hair-raising encounters with dangerous creatures in the most treacherous locations on earth. Among his many adventures, he unearths the flesh-crawling reality of the Mongolian Death Worm, challenges an ancient curse by spending the night in King Tut’s tomb, descends into a centuries-old mine to search for an alien entity in subterranean darkness, pursues ghosts in the radioactive shadow of Chernobyl, and explores sightings of Bigfoot from the leech-infested rain forests of Malaysia to the dizzying heights of the Himalayas.

Part journey into the unexplained, part hilarious travelogue, part fascinating look at the making of a reality-based TV show—and featuring never-before-published photographs— this Destination Truth companion takes readers on the supernatural expedition of a lifetime.

Josh Gates delivers an excellent read and inspirational page turner in this book. For me I read it whilst on holiday with my family in Marmaris Turkey. As a family holiday (with young children) adventure wasn't readily available, but Josh offered up some great advice on how to better my time here. Including presenting myself as a traveller and not an annoying tourist! As a paranormal investigator in my spare time, those kids of mine are expensive, I too seek adventure in various forms and although I'm no where near as well travelled as Josh, my journey of exploration into the paranormal has possibly been relatively stoked further thanks to this book. Whether you like travelling, adventuring, the paranormal or even cryptozoology this is a book for you and a must read. If you don't really like any of those, read it anyways as it may just inspire you to travel, set off on an adventure or even seek something beyond your usual day to day. Admittedly I am a Destination Truth fan, ever since my sister brought the show to my attention Ive loved it! There's something that just catches you and draws you in and that quick fire adventure soaked fly by the seat of your pants presentation is brilliant. Top job guys. And Josh, that Vincent Chow guy was bang on the money, its the journey thats important. I get that totally. Just as with the paranormal its the experience that you personally should embrace and decide what that means to yourself. Finding a solid piece of evidence maybe your goal, but cling to the path you travel and learn from its many twists and turns. So where ever you're heading, stranger shores, familiar places or in search of something a little different, pick this book up and read it on your way. If anything it will make you smile and nod your head in agreement. Oh yes Josh may just have one of the top jobs on the planet.
