Synopsis

THE #1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLING SENSATION TELLS A PROVOCATIVE STORY ABOUT FAMILY SECRETS, LOVE, AND LETTING GO IN HER UNFORGETTABLE NEW TOUR DE FORCE.

On an icy winter night, a terrible accident forces a family divided to come together and make a fateful decision. Cara, once protected by her father, Luke, is tormented by a secret that nobody knows. Her brother, Edward, has secrets of his own. He has kept them hidden, but now they may come to light, and if they do, Cara will be devastated. Their mother, Georgie, was never able to compete with her ex-husband’s obsessions, and now, his fate hangs in the balance and in the hands of her children. With conflicting motivations and emotions, what will this family decide? And will they be able to live with that decision, after the truth has been revealed? What happens when the hope that should sustain a family is the very thing tearing it apart?

I feel decieved

My initial thoughts were that this was a fantastically written book, with such an original storyline. That is until I read the book "the man who lives with wolves". Then I though " isn't plagiarism illegal?", and "one day I'm going to take a little known book, tweak a few paragraphs, make it my own, and become a millionaire author". Well done Jodi, who'd of thought it could be that easy.

This book was so good. As most of Jodi Picoult books are, they make you think and take real life situations based on fictional characters. Just another one to add to the "must read" list.

Kept me interested

I found the Luke chapters really repeated themselves far too much, we know that a wolf will do anything for the family, blah blah. It was still a good read and as always, Jodi does a good job of telling the story from different angles. I hesitated between 3-4 stars only because she has better books, but if it weren't a Jodi Picoult it may warranted a 4...I hold her to high standards she has created:) I pretty much know I will like anything of hers:)
