Synopsis

Cameron Jacobs is an open book. He considers himself a common waiter with normal friends, boring hobbies, harmless dogs, and nothing even resembling a secret... except a crush on a tall, dark, devastatingly handsome man who dines alone at his restaurant on Tuesday nights. All it takes is one passionate night with Julian Cross to turn Camerons world on its head.

Julian's love and devotion are all Cameron could have hoped for and more. But when his ordinary life meets and clashes with Julian's extraordinary lifestyle, Cameron discovers that trust and fear can go hand in hand, and love is just a step away from danger.

Sweet, but sloooooow pacing.
July 14th, 2014
I had a few problems with this book. First was that the pacing was very slow. I don't mind a meandering tale, but this one seemed stagnant. It was it's bursts of sweetness that kept me reading and warranted three stars in my review. Second issue I had was that Cameron was always made to apologize for his feelings—his VERY VALID feelings. He shouldn't have to apologize for being wary of a stranger, and being uncertain about a partner who shares nothing with him and was caught in little lies. He also should not have to apologize for not having faith in the relationship and being scared of things he doesn't know and cannot anticipate are coming when he is so very much kept in the dark. How's anyone to handle that? The moment he expresses this doubt, he is left and made to feel it was his fault. No, Cameron should not have been apologizing for that. And it should have certainly not been considered a "betrayal". Cameron has the hallmarks of a person subjected to emotional abuse, in my opinion.

This book is very well written and great story! Enjoyable from beginning to end, loved the characters. If you enjoy M/M books this one has everything - a little action, love, betrayal, and a happy ending.

Devastated
April 12th, 2013
I hate closing a book that I've enjoyed. But I'm devastated closing this one. Madeleine and Abigail work magic. And I'll never be the same for having known Julian and Cameron Can I beg for them to visit us once again? So well written the characters, circumstance and intrigue fly off the pages. Never bored and completely immersed. Love doesn't begin to describe my relationship with the book. And now my heart is truly broken!
