Synopsis

A funny and poignant story of pioneers in the Australian outback:  Australia is a country with endless opportunities for those willing to work hard - such was the parole in 1960, when young German immigrants leave their homeland in search of a better life. Two when two young adventurers jump a freight-train to escape inhuman working conditions as rail-linesmen on the Nullarbor, it is the beginning of a long and eventful journey into the unknown world of 'outbackers'; opal diggers, kangaroo-hunters, Aborigine culture, a near-catastrophe in the rain-forests of north Queensland and a hazardous journey down the 'Track' through the 'Red Center' of the world's driest continent.
