Synopsis

Sequel to the extraordinary THE NAME OF THE WIND, THE WISE MAN'S FEAR is the second instalment of this superb fantasy trilogy from Patrick Rothfuss. This is the most exciting fantasy series since George R. R. Martin's A SONG OF ICE AND FIRE, and a must-read for all fans of HBO's GAME OF THRONES.

Picking up the tale of Kvothe Kingkiller once again, we follow him into exile, into political intrigue, courtship, adventure, love and magic . . . and further along the path that has turned Kvothe, the mightiest magician of his age, a legend in his own time, into Kote, the unassuming pub landlord.

Packed with as much magic, adventure and home-grown drama as THE NAME OF THE WIND, this is a sequel in every way the equal to its predecessor and a must-read for all fantasy fans. Readable, engaging and gripping THE WISE MAN'S FEAR is the biggest and the best new fantasy novel out there.

A wise man's fear

Well crafted story leaving enough loose ends for a third installment. PR has invented new language which adds dimensions to the already multidirectional prose. Well worth reading.

These first few novels in the King Killer Chronicles are just amazing! It's hard to believe that they're debuts... I can't wait for the last book in the series. I'm definitely a Rothfuss fan!

Superb sequel. Excellent book! It has a great pace and shows the authors vast imagination through its wonderful variety of characters, locations and plots. Looking forward to the third book. If his other projects allow him the time to finish it.

Long Read

I read the first book at my normal pace. Found out it was the first in a series and tried to savour this one so I would only finish when the next book was available. It was a great read, but now I have to wait

A real page Turner.

The Wise Man's Fear is a powerful literary reminder of the dangers of terminological inexactitude, the maddening stupidity of prejudice and the idiosyncratic tyranny of the noble class. Patrick Rothfuss has delivered a great sequel to the Name of the Wind.
