Synopsis

My name is Leslie Joy (Les to my friends), and I was born on the 16th March 1923 in Bradford, Yorkshire. This is my true story of how at the age of 19 I joined the RAF, fell in love with a Tiger Moth, got my wings and flew as a Lancaster Bomber pilot in World War II, and survived just!

Very dissappointing. A tedious chronology and a waste of money that i could have spent better. I believe it should be removed from your book store.

I enjoyed it very much as I have known a Lancaster Bomber pilot at our Legion before he passed away .so it was of great interest to me .His name was John Callingham .He was shot down and became a prison of war .Thanks for the book

With all due respect to Leslie Joy, this unfortunately is not a good read, I read it in just under an hour and it was just a short and boring factual account of the steps he went through from when he was a boy to present day, you get absolutely no idea of what it was like piloting a large aircraft over war torn Germany, the terror, the challenges etc. This should really be something that is called a vanity publication, only to be read by family and close friends. Do not waste your money.

Very poorly written. Les should have employed an assistant to beef up the experiences. I am sure many of his situations could have been researched to give the reader a clearer. Picture of life as a WW2. Pilot. Andy foley
